Edinburgh Festival of Legal Theory

The website for this event has now been launched: http://www.law.ed.ac.uk/festivaloflegaltheory/

A five day event, from 28 May to 1 June 2008, this Festival will host:
  • Dead/Lines: Contemporary Issues in Legal and Political Theory - an AHRC Doctoral Colloquium, held on 28 - 29 May 2008.
  • New Directions in Legal and Social Theory - the UK IVR Conference, held on 30 May - 31 May 2008
  • Social Events
  • Independent Workshops
  • Research Project Pitches

Upendra Baxi and SAmmy Adelman, both from Warwick, will conduct the following workshops at Edinburgh this Thursday, 8 November:

Wednesday 21 November, 4pm to 6pm - Jamie MacLean, PhD student at Edinburgh, will present a paper based on his thesis, which is provisionally entitled "Towards a Process Theory of Law". This is likely to be in Room L05, Old College (TBC).

Tuesday 5 June 2007, 3pm, Room L05, Old College, Edinburgh: Professor Cecile Fabre presents a paper entitled "Rights and Non-Existence". Commentary will be provided by Dr. Scott Veitch.

Wednesday 20 June 2007, Room L05 4.00 - 6.00pm, Old College, Edinburgh: Octávio Ferraz (Warwick) will present a paper entitled "Two models for the justiciability of social rights."
Claudio Michelon and Oche Onazi will comment on the paper.
